ESA’s National Training School just added Michigan to its list of states that recognize its training for licensing. Michigan’s Bureau of Construction Codes, Electrical Division for Fire Alarm Specialty Technician Candidates has approved NTS’ CFAT Level II as an alternative to NICET.

Previously, the only certification option to meet eligibility requirements to sit for the Fire Alarm Specialty Technician exam in the state of Michigan was to hold a NICET II certification in Fire Alarm Systems. ESA’s Certified Fire Alarm Technician (CFAT) Level II training program was presented to the Electrical Administrative Board at the February 14, 2019 meeting.

NTS certifications are based on rigorous certification curriculum, field experience requirements, competency-based testing and a personal recommendation to ensure that students meet core skills and knowledge. They validate abilities to customers, supervisors, peers and potential employers.

ESA National Training School’s CFAT Certification gives you a road map for success in your career development by requiring applicants to meet stringent training and work experience requirements.  They are earned and continuously maintained to help you develop skills and knowledge.
