The Electronic Security Association is getting ready to elect and fill three Board of Director positions this year. Currently, there are two positions open for Integrator Directors and one open position for an Associate Member Director. Each position lasts for two-year terms.
According to the nomination procedures, any professional whose company is an active Integrator or Associate Member of ESA in Good Standing, who are also the Voting Representative for their organization may submit their name via application by February 17th, 2023.
The basic function for these roles is to participate as part of the Board to accomplish the mission and vision of the ESA. The directors serve as “ambassadors of goodwill” at all times in order to advance the organization’s mission and programs.
ESA’s Nomination Committee then proposes and submits all Voting Representatives of Members in Good Standing.
The Nomination Committee, also known as LINC (Leadership Identification and Nomination Committee) was launched in 2022 with the goal of identifying and recruiting future directors, standing committee chairs, and thought-leaders willing to serve the industry through volunteer ESA leadership positions.
Kirk MacDowell says, “We need to expand our Horizons. I think sometimes we continually ask the same people to do the same thing. There’s nothing wrong with that — but we need a diverse board and diverse committees. And that’s LINC’s mission: to not only find the right people, but to find the people who may not be as well known.”
All qualified candidates will be announced on March 27 by the Leadership Identification and Nominating Committee.
Ballots will be distributed electronically on May 1 and must be completed by May 26 at 2:00 PM (Central). Directors will be installed at the Annual Membership meeting, which will take place on June 5 at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) in Louisville, KY. All elected candidates will take office on July 1.
