ESA’s National Training School Releases 18 New CEU Courses

ESA’s National Training Schools courses and CEU programs are designed to help electronic security and life safety professionals advance in easily accessible and robust ways. ESA has just announced 18 new continuing education courses for it’s National Training School. Courses are available now — and will help students maintain certifications and licenses.

Topics include: networking, basic mathematics, science, project management, customer service and more.

NETWORKING

Residential Networking Basics: Designed to provide basic level knowledge of working with IPs, understanding routers, network types, and general troubleshooting.

Networking 101 — Basics: Provides students with various ways a network can be constructed and, in general terms, how data is sent from one point to another.

Networking 102 — Protocols: This course provides students with various protocols you are likely to encounter when installing and maintaining security and life safety systems on a network.

Networking 103 — Data Transmission: This CEU course provides students with various mediums that’s a network may use to transmit data.

Networking 104 — Hardware: Provides students with the most commonly used networking hardware found in a business environment while also demonstrating how hardware interacts with and communicates through other devices like hubs, routers and switches is important.

Networking 105 — Administration of Networks: This course equips students with information on the important role administrators play in maintaining a network, as well as security concerns, sources of threats to a network and security measures employed to protect the network.

Networking 106 — Basic Network Troubleshooting: This online course provides students with the basic tools that should be available when troubleshooting, as well as, general techniques that can be used to effectively troubleshoot a system.

MATH

Basic Math for Security Professionals: This course provides students with skills to solve mathematical problems requiring simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and raising numbers to exponential powers; rounding to the correct number of significant figures; calculating percents; reading graphs; and using simple geometric definitions and formulas.

Math Refresher: This course provides an overview of how to use the mathematical formulas associated with the electronic security industry.

BUSINESS

Basics of Customer Service: This three-hour online course provides students with communication skills, customer service skills and tips to deal with handling difficult customers.  While demonstrating the key skills necessary to dealing with difficult situations while providing the highest possible level of customer service in a professional manner.

SECURITY

Incident Reports for Security Professionals: Provides students with information on the considerations that may be needed when preparing and writing an incident report, by presenting facts and details as accurately as possible, while maintaining the integrity of the report is a major consideration.
