ESA Youth Scholarship Program – Application Deadline Extended

Given obstacles created by containment measures and the “new normal” of the COVID-19 pandemic, ESA is extending the deadline for the ESA Youth Scholarship Program, designed to support deserving high school seniors with active first responder parents.

The deadline has been extended to Monday, May 4 for the ESA application and many of the participating states.

(The extension provided is unfortunately not applicable in states that have lapsed deadlines and commenced judging and finalist selections, including: CO, CT, NV, WI)

This philanthropic endeavor aims to support the futures of children of first responders. The national-level ESA scholarship will award $7,500 for first place and $2,500 for second place.

The electronic security industry works intimately with the public safety sector. Police, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs offer a vital service to our communities, in our shared goal of keeping people, places and property safe.

To give back to this group that so positively impacts the communities around us, ESA developed the ESA Youth Scholarship Program, which has contributed over $700,500 to deserving high school seniors who hold a commitment to excellence and are inspired by the work their first responder parent(s) do in the line of duty each day.

Scholarships for Children of First Responders

This year, 14 state associations across the nation will join forces with ESA in a programmatic effort to support the families of first responders. Winners will be selected from each state and will then compete at the national level for ESA’s first and second place awards. Winners from each state and the first-round ESA award will be automatically considered for an additional national ESA Scholarship in the amount of $7,500 for first place and $2,500 for second place.
