As the number of technical job postings increase, ESA’s National Training School (NTS) is tackling the issue head on, aiming to expose the industry to high school CTE (career and technical education) programs by providing it’s very first high school partnership program in Pennsylvania, with hopes to expand the initiative throughout the US. As the number of technical job postings increase, ESA’s National Training School (NTS) is tackling the issue head on, aiming to expose the industry to high school CTE (career and technical education) programs by providing it’s very first high school partnership program in Pennsylvania, with hopes to expand the initiative throughout the US.
“We are very excited to offer campus licenses to career and technical high schools to increase our industry’s visibility,” says ESA Chief Knowledge Officer, Michelle Yungblut. “High school students are full of potential and are still making decisions about their future — decisions we feel we can impact, by exposing them to a lucrative and fulfilling career path in the electronic security and life safety industry.”
NTS aims to introduce intrusion and fire training into high schools in 2018, delivering the information in a hybrid format combining online and in-person instructor-led classes in areas where more hands-on instruction is needed.
ESA members will be invited to join the initiative to provide guidance and equipment training in high schools near them. An official unveiling of this program and its very first high school is expected later this year.
