ESA to Team Up with the Green Beret Foundation in 2015 Irving, Texas (Mar. 31, 2015) — The Electronic Security Association (ESA) is proud to announce that it has chosen the Green Beret Foundation as the beneficiary of ESA Gives Back in 2015. ESA Gives Back is an ongoing program that engages association leadership, members and staff in supporting charitable and philanthropic initiatives. The mission of ESA Gives Back is to contribute to these efforts and positively impact the world around us. Since its inception in 2012, ESA Gives Back has raised over $50,000 for worthy causes including the Wounded Warrior Project, Warrior Dog Foundation, and Mission 500. 2015 brings another incredible organization into the fold with the Green Beret Foundation. The Green Beret Foundation, in the years since its creation, has provided immediate financial assistance to Green Berets injured in the line of duty, as well as to their families and families of Green Berets who gave their lives in the service of their country. The Foundation also provides funds to support the extended care of an injured Green Beret when the Veteran’s Administration does not, while also focusing on the immediate special needs of wounded Green Berets. Programs offered by the Foundation include immediate casualty care and extended care for the individual and his family, as well as funeral support for Gold Star Families, the “Steel Mags†spousal support group and scholarships for high school seniors. ESA Gives Back will be raising funds and providing additional resources to one of the Green Beret Foundation’s programs called the Next Ridgeline. The Next Ridgeline provides current and former U.S. Army Green Berets, who are transitioning back into civilian life, the tools and resources they need to be successful in their endeavors. “We are delighted to join with the Green Beret Foundation in support of their mission,†said Electronic Security Association Executive Director & CEO Merlin Guilbeau. “As an organization that employs several veterans, we have direct insight into the challenges faced by members of the military and their families. We are proud to support such a noble, worthy cause.†Attendees at ESX 2015 will be able to meet with representatives of the Green Beret Foundation and learn more about the organization from retired Major General James ‘Greg’ Champion during the Opening Keynote Luncheon on June 25 at the Baltimore Convention Center. The Green Beret Foundation will have a booth on the tradeshow floor that will be staffed with retired Green Berets looking to make connections with security companies. "Partnering with ESA is a natural fit for the Green Beret Foundation and our Green Berets. This is an outstanding opportunity for the Next Ridgeline, the Green Beret Foundation's transition program. We see this as not just getting our Green Berets into the workforce but getting them into meaningful and impactful work where both the employer and employee benefit substantially,†said Green Beret Foundation Executive Director Jen Paquette. “Green Berets understand security better than anyone. They have the innate ability to look at complex situations and provide solutions. They are problem solvers and they are leaders. By linking these men up with these outstanding security companies, we continue the philosophy of force multiplication to build a better and safer America. We look forward to this year's ESX in Baltimore, MD to further our relationships with ESA and their member companies."
