ESA Launches New Grassroots Advocacy Program and Welcomes Meghan Murphy as Grassroots & Regulatory Affairs Coordinator
Electronic Security Association — February 12, 2026

ESA has announced the launch of its new Grassroots Advocacy Program, a member-driven initiative designed to strengthen engagement with policymakers and elevate the voice of the electronic security and life-safety industry at the state and federal levels. ESA also announced the appointment of Meghan Murphy as its new Grassroots & Regulatory Affairs Coordinator.

The Grassroots Advocacy Program provides ESA members with flexible, accessible ways to engage in legislative and regulatory efforts, including communicating with lawmakers, participating in advocacy campaigns, and sharing real-world industry expertise. The program is designed to fit the schedules of busy professionals while delivering meaningful impact.

“This program gives our members a clear, practical way to engage when it matters most,” said Merlin Guilbeau, CEO of ESA. “Smart policy is built on real-world insight, and this initiative ensures lawmakers hear directly from the professionals who design, install, and monitor the systems that protect people, property, and places every day. Bringing Meghan Murphy onto the team further strengthens ESA’s commitment to strong, member-driven advocacy.”

In her role, Murphy will coordinate member advocacy efforts and support engagement with legislators and regulators, helping members confidently participate in the public policy process.

“I am looking forward to engaging current and prospective members of ESA,” said Meghan Murphy, Grassroots & Regulatory Affairs Coordinator at ESA, “as well as strengthening advocacy efforts at both the state and federal levels, while continuing to highlight ESA as the leading voice of the electronic security and life-safety industry.”
