ESA Becomes a 2021 National Cyber Security Alliance Data Privacy Champion
Jillian Bateman — January 25, 2021

ESA is pleased to actively participate in Data Privacy Day, a program by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) consisting of a single day — January 28, 2021 — to inspire dialogue and empower individuals and businesses to take action by helping to make people aware and informed about how their personal information is being used, collected and shared digitally.

As the voice of the electronic security and life safety industry, ESA is keenly aware of data privacy issues revolving around IoT and smart connected homes, businesses and buildings, including motion sensors, indoor/outdoor security cameras, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, power back-ups and much more.

All connected components empowering users to control their security system can become a gateway for hackers seeking access. While these components are in some cases necessary and in most cases convenient for safety and security, each adds an additional layer of complexity and can also act as entry points for hackers to gain access digitally. Because of this, working with a knowledgeable security professional is always recommended by ESA. Our expert member companies across the nation can help businesses and homeowners rest assured in their security systems — and their data privacy.

When searching for a professional to customize and install your system, look for an Electronic Security Association (ESA) member company, as they adhere to and practice a strict code of ethics and quality standards. This ensures you peace of mind that people, property and privacy is secure. ESA Members excel at listening to your needs and wants, and then designing a robust system that fulfills them.
