Google Announces Gift of $340 Million in Ad Credits to SMBs
Jillian Bateman — March 31, 2020

On Friday, March 27, Google announced it would give $340 million in ad credits to all small and mid-size businesses who had an active Google Ads account over the past year.

The blog post by Google CEO Sundar Pichai stated that recipients will be notified of the credits in their Google Ads accounts and will be able to use them through the end of 2020 on any of Google’s advertising platforms.

“We hope it will alleviate some of the cost of staying in touch with their customers,” writes Pichai.

For electronic security and life safety companies with active ad accounts in the past year, this could be good news. Advertisements might be helpful in a time when call volume is lower than usual and many customer touchpoints have moved online. Plus, the availability of these credits will likely extend beyond the current climate, when the advertisements could aid businesses as they work to get back to full steam.
