COVID-19 and the Electronic Security and Life Safety Industry
The past few weeks have been unprecedented for all of us — we hope this message finds you and yours well.
As an association, we are in the business of building a strong, united industry front — of building community. We understand and share in your concern and anxiety as individuals, as well as in your roles as leaders within your companies. We recognize the critical role ESA Members play every day in helping to keep people, places, and property protected.
We are in this together.
We have outlined below what we are doing as an organization to keep our people safe while continuing to serve our members — and the industry at large during this challenging time.
Support for our Industry
ESA staff will continue serving members from home offices and the Association will remain open for business.
In striving to provide uninterrupted service to our industry in a responsible manner, all online and virtual training is still being conducted through our National Training School. See the upcoming virtual live training schedule.
We will support you, our members, in whatever ways we can. Our government advocacy efforts will be elevated throughout this time — and we will communicate to members any and all bills passed to support businesses.
Our experience suggests that in times of uncertainty, associations are in a unique and trusted position to help stakeholders navigate, rebound, and recover.
Staff Wellbeing and Day-to-Day Operations
First, ESA has mobilized its staff — serving members from home offices — and continues to be open for business. The Association has also taken the following precautions:
- For our people and for our offices, we continue to closely monitor, align, and adapt our practices, planning, and thinking with guidelines provided by public health authorities and the CDC.
- We are continuing to make decisions, communicate with employees and customers, safeguard data, and ensure ongoing operations throughout this trying time.
- We are centrally monitoring the travel and whereabouts of our employees and have suspended non-essential travel.
- In-person strategic planning meetings that had been planned to be held in our offices are now taking place virtually with volunteer leaders and committees participating via Zoom video conferencing.
