ESA’s Executive Management Professionals (EMP) Group is Accepting New Members
Jillian Bateman — August 3, 2022

ESA’s Executive Management Professionals (EMP) Group is accepting applications for new members. It is the leading community for individuals charged with the strategic and financial leadership of electronic security integration and monitoring companies.

What is the Executive Management Professionals (EMP) Group?

The EMP group tackles issues such as: company valuation, financing, business model development, mergers and acquisitions, human capital development, executive leadership, change management, and more. As a member of this group, you will gain invaluable information, ideas, and networking opportunities. Any ESA (Electronic Security Association) member who is involved in an executive or senior leadership position within their company is invited to apply for membership here.

The EMP program provides a fantastic opportunity for owners and senior leaders at ESA member companies to leverage the expertise and knowledge of fellow ESA members.” says Scott Hightower, President of Verified Security and Chairman of the EMP Group ”It is a fantastic way to network with other security company leaders to help grow your business.”

The Types of EMP Group Forums

There are two types of EMP Group Forums, National and Small Groups. Membership in the Small Group Forums is restricted to 8-10 members. It is not restricted by geographic territory but is comprised of those who are not in direct competition and is granted by each group’s consensus. The National Forum is made up of all small group forum members.

What To Expect

The structure of the Small Group Forums allows for 40 minutes of planned topic presentation and discussion, followed by around 20 minutes of open discussion regarding topics presented by the members. Small Group Forums are encouraged to hold at least 12 virtual meetings per year (in addition to the in-person National Forum meeting at ESX).

“Being a member of ESA and the EMP Group has provided me with a group of peers to discuss industry trends and best practices with.” says Dee Ann Harn, CEO of RFI “The ability to pick up the phone and call a fellow EMP Member and ask ‘What does your company do for X’, has given me exposure to better ideas than I could come up with on my own!”

The EMP Groups are designed to be a place of open communication, where all can contribute and benefit from the collective knowledge of their peers. Members can expect to learn new ways to lead their organization, different methods for operating their business — and discover that others share the same issues, problems, and concerns as themselves.
