A LOUD Farewell

A LOUD Farewell
Merlin Guilbeau — August 7, 2024

As Chairman Loud’s tenure ends, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve shared together. Serving with John Loud has been a privilege and an honor beyond words. As I bid him farewell as Chairman of ESA, my heart is full of gratitude and appreciation.

Serving as Chairman of the Board is the toughest volunteer position in the association, and John Loud took on the role with passion, dedication, grace, and seriousness. Over the past two years, he has achieved remarkable milestones and faced challenges with resilience and unity. Among them, he helped us successfully navigate through the launch of a membership campaign drive that engaged new volunteers and recruited 67 new members for the association. It has been a journey of growth, both for the association and me personally.

Throughout his tenure, he has exemplified what it means to be a leader. His vision, passion, and tireless efforts have inspired us all to “GET LOUD” and strive for excellence. Whether it was running board meetings at the speed of Loud, rallying support for the membership campaign, or mentoring others, his leadership has left an indelible mark on the future success of our initiatives.

Beyond his achievements, it has been his infectious joy, warmth, empathy, and ability to bring people together that have made him such a great chairman. He has not only led by example, he has also fostered a sense of camaraderie and purpose that will endure long after his departure. Great volunteer leaders attract other great volunteer leaders.

His time as chairman will continue to have an impact on ESA moving forward. His hard work and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind many accomplishments. I am immensely proud of what he has achieved and feel confident in the bright future that lies ahead for ESA.

As he steps down from this role, he leaves us with a sense of fulfillment and optimism, knowing that the leadership transition will be smooth and that our shared goals will continue to guide us forward.

We can be grateful for the friendships forged and the invaluable experiences gained during his tenure. His contributions have truly made a significant impact on the association and the community we serve.

I will certainly miss working with him as chairman, but I look forward to staying in touch with him for years to come.

Congratulations to John for living life LOUD!
