Donations are Now Being Accepted to Support Children of First Responders

The electronic security industry works intimately with public safety organizations such as police departments, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs, all of which offer vital services to our communities, keeping people, places and property safe.

This holiday season, electronic security and life safety professionals are encouraged to donate to this philanthropic effort established to help the children of active first responders afford higher education. 

“ESA deeply values the dedication and sacrifice of our first responders. We aim to make 2024 our strongest year yet. With your support, we can help the many deserving families who sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe.” says Kelly Bond, Youth Scholarship Chairwoman. 

Children of active firefighters, police officers, EMTs or paramedics who are inspired by the work their parents do are encouraged to apply. 

Scholarships are awarded each year to 10+ outstanding students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, community involvement — and a strong commitment to making a positive impact on their community. To date, over $887,000 has been awarded to deserving high school seniors coast to coast.

“I want to give a huge thank you to everyone involved with ESA for making this scholarship a possibility,” says ESA’s 2023 First Place National Winner, Amaya Fischer, daughter of firefighter Mike Fischer from Idaho. “You all have truly made a positive difference in my life. You have inspired me and motivated me to work hard and chase my dreams — and I will begin to do this by making the most of this generous scholarship and working toward my dream of becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner.”  

These scholarship awards are made possible by a generous donation by our partners COPS Monitoring. 
 
This year, 12 state associations across the nation will join forces with ESA in a programmatic effort to support the families of first responders. Winners will be selected from each state and will then compete at the national level for ESA’s first and second place awards.
