During the lunch general session, featured speaker Dee Ann Harn, CEO of RFI Communications & Security Systems, will present insights into change management. She will emphasize the impact of change on both the security industry, as well as family-owned businesses. "Engaging workplace change can be an unpredictable experience, because processes and people evolve in diverse ways as they undergo change. No two individuals will respond in exactly the same way to workplace changes. Identical changes implemented in multiple areas of an organization can produce distinctly different outcomes,” said Harn. "This session will help leaders prepare for change, engage their employees through the change, and drive positive outcomes.”Harn will share the process her management team has been using, based on the book, Leading Change, by John P. Kotter. The session will provide actionable take-aways, such as how to establish a sense of urgency, create a guiding coalition, communicate the vision, generate short-term wins and new approaches in the culture. "Every company deals with change – sometimes gradual change and sometimes drastic change. It’s important for leaders to embrace change and learn how to manage it when it is inevitable or even desirable,” said Brandon Savage, YSP council chair.
