School Camera Bill Passes in Texas

The Texas Senate has recently passed SB 507 which requires school districts to install cameras in self-contained classrooms or other locations for students receiving special services. The Senate is predicting that the installations will generate close to $2.6 million for the Electronic Security Industry. The Foundation School Program will fund the new security upgrades with any remaining costs being offset by schools soliciting and accepting donations or grants to help pay for the equipment.
