AIREF 12th Annual Golf Classic Winners

AIREF 12th Annual Golf Classic Winners Irving, Texas (Apr. 21, 2015) — A dozen years of golf, a dozen winners a year, nets a gross of lucky and talented players. But everyone was a winner at the AIREF 12th Annual Golf Classic held at the Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Industry colleagues teamed up for a pre-ISC West networking event. Windy conditions prevailed on the Lexington Course but the sun was strong and the temperatures high for the 109 players (26 teams) participating in this fun fundraiser. Golf co-chairs, Keith Baird of Honeywell and Mike Harrison of Hillcrest Davidson, introduced tech savvy electronic live golf scoring, powered by VPAR, to ramp up the friendly competition on the course. Golfers returned to the clubhouse to view a leaderboard which revealed the winners automatically. Golfers were divided into two flights. Flight One Low-Gross went to the team of Telguard, who came in with an unbelievable net score of 46 (-26) (scorecard playoff). Runner up honors went to the Safe Security team, who came in with a net score of 46 (-26) (scorecard playoff). Flight Two Low Gross went to the team of Tri-Ed 2 with a remarkable net score of 56(-16). Runners up were the Professional Telecommunication Services (PTS) team, with a net score of 57 (-15). Each player on the winning teams received a $300 or $150 American Express gift card. The Longest Drive #16 went to Mike Matson, Jr. of Matson Alarms, playing for Honeywell. His prize was a $150 American Express gift card. Closest to the Line winner, Bob Pep of Winstead, playing for Team SDM, also received a $150 American Express gift card. Lou Santos (PTS), doubled downed with a win by hitting the jackpot of $3,330. The event followed a shamble format, a combination of scramble and best ball. Note was made of the most sartorially splendid golf ensembles—but no money was awarded for their clothing budget. “The AIREF foundation is grateful for the continued generosity of our industry colleagues. We are always thankful for their spontaneous willingness to participate in this fundraiser which supports our research projects,” said AIREF treasurer, Jamie Orvis, owner of Security Solutions Inc. “Our sponsors are tops in the industry.” The post play reception at Revere showcased tournament awards, prizes and presentations saluting winners and sponsors. The Revere course provides a challenge for golfers and showcases a spectacular panoramic view of Las Vegas. The tournament serves as AIREF’s sole fundraising event, allowing the foundation to support critical research and educational programs that benefit the security industry and enhance public safety. Thank you to our major sponsors: Honeywell Security, the Morris F. Weinstock Sponsor; and ADI, ISC West, and Tri-Ed an Anixter company, Sara E. Jackson Sponsors. Premium sponsors included Altronix, Interlogix, Security America RRG, System Sensor, Tyco, Monitronics and Alarm.com. Contributions from donating companies included sponsored golf holes, bottled water, four hole-in-one prizes, putting green and driving range. Golfers love the perks that go with the game! Two years into our second decade, this golf classic continues to demonstrate the increased success and on-going prosperity for our industry. As Dan Pritchard of Paige Electric, put it, “Vegas golf at the Revere Golf Club is a true canyon course experience. It’s part of the ISC West adventure!” For more information, please go to www.AIREF.org.
