Tee Up for the 13th Annual AIREF Golf Classic

Tee Up for the 13th Annual AIREF Golf Classic Irving, Texas (March 10, 2016) – It’s time to hit the greens for the 13th Annual Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF) Golf Classic set for April 5, 2016 at the Revere Golf Club (RGC) in Las Vegas. AIREF, an all-volunteer nonprofit foundation, was created in 1977 by ESA to serve as the research arm of the industry and funding for the foundation is derived almost solely from the golf tournament. Since the inaugural tournament in 2003, over $1 million has been raised for research projects and distributed to municipalities nationwide. Resources and statistics provide public safety officials data to better understand our industry in their effort to protect and serve their communities. Aside from serving as the primary source of funding for AIREF, this annual event provides an opportunity for players to network with industry executives and for business leaders to treat their prospects, customers and/or employees to a relaxing round of golf during a casual day on the greens. Golfers will be divided into two separate flights and will play for cash prizes. The top two foursomes will receive $300 each; the two second place winning teams will receive $150 each. Additional prizes will be awarded for closest to the line, longest drive, and have an opportunity for a $20,000 Hole-in-One prize along with a few other Hole-in-One prizes. Mulligans and raffle tickets for a 50/50 drawing are available at the tournament during check in. Complimentary bus transportation to and from the Las Vegas strip to Revere Golf Club will be provided. Buses will leave the Treasure Island Casino at 7:15 a.m. to head over to the golf course and then leave to return to Treasure Island at 3:15 p.m. Golf registration and breakfast at Revere begins at 7:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 8:40 a.m. VPAR live golf scoring will be used again this year to enhance friendly competition on the greens. Each team will receive a VPAR electronic score pad that will be connected to the clubhouse leaderboards and TVs. A catered lunch on the course, post play reception, raffle and awards ceremony are all part of the schedule at the 13th Annual AIREF Golf Classic. Golfers of all levels are welcome and able to register as a single or a group. Club rentals are also available and can be arranged the morning of the event at the club’s Pro Shop. Golf Committee Chairs, Mike Harrison, with Hillcrest Davidson & Associates, and Keith Baird, with Honeywell, view it this way. “The AIREF tournament provides the perfect opportunity to network with colleagues, enjoy a round of golf on a great course, while supporting the foundation and its initiatives. It’s an ideal start for a busy week in Vegas.” To register for the tournament, visit www.airef.org or contact Mike Hampton, ESA Member Service Manager at [email protected].
