Meet the ESA Women in Technology Scholarship Winners
Electronic Security Association — April 11, 2024

We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the ESA Women in Technology Scholarship program! After the selection process, 5 exceptional women have been chosen for their outstanding dedication, curiosity, and drive in the electronic security and life safety technology field.

The ESA Certified Alarm Technician CAT Certifications give you a road map for success in your career development by requiring applicants to meet stringent training and work experience requirements. They are earned and continuously maintained to help you develop your skills and knowledge.

The ESA advantage over other certification programs is that our certifications are based on rigorous certification curriculum and field experience requirements to ensure that students meet core skills and knowledge. They validate your abilities to customers, supervisors, peers and potential employers.

Please join us in congratulating the following scholarship winners:

I am leading the way for a new perspective, utilizing creativity and imagination to drive in innovation with my colleagues. Let us set a new standard for inclusion and diversity within the industry.

Kaleigh Harris, Down East Protection Systems, CAT 1

I have been working in the alarm industry for ten years. I started as a receptionist and worked my way up to technical support and dispatcher. I love to challenge myself even further in my work. I love the challenge this industry offers and am always looking for the next challenge.

Jen Banks, CAT 1

“I feel stagnant with the knowledge I have accrued thus far.  I yearn to learn more and expand the boundaries even more than I have.  Knowledge is key to human development AND career growth. It also feels incredibly unique and special. Breaking a cycle of gender roles is vitally important and brings a different thought process to the table.”

April Chastain, Owen Security Solutions, CAT 1
