Weinstock Person of the Year Award to Michael A. Miller of Moon Security and the Sara E. Weinstock Person of the Year Award RecipientAs the 2010 Morris F. Weinstock Person of the Year Award winner, Michael A. Miller exemplifies the qualities and characteristics the award was designed to recognize. First presented in 1970, the Morris F. Weinstock Memorial Award is given in grateful appreciation for outstanding individual achievement and continued efforts on behalf of the association. The award was initiated by the family of Morris F. Weinstock to honor the lifetime work of the ESA co-founder and past president. He is a most deserving recipient of this award.”Miller has been involved in the security industry since the late 1970s. He has served ESA of Washington as president three times. In addition, he served the local East Side Chapter as chairman twice. He served on ESA’s Board of Directors as the Washington representative for four years. Mike Miller has been active in the Electronic Security Association since 1991 and served as chairman of the following committees: Budget/Audit, Elections, Investment, Membership, False Alarm, Political Action and Strategic Planning. In 2005, Miller was honored with the Sarah E. Jackson Memorial Award for his outstanding leadership as a committee chair.Aspiring to do even more for the association and industry, Mike turned his focus to the national association where he has served as a member of the Executive Committee for 12 years, twice in the capacity as treasurer, then vice president/president-elect, as president from 2008 – 2010 and currently as past president. He continues to devote his time and resources for the benefit of the association and industry by working with two organizations owned by ESA: the Alarm Industry Expo, LLC (AIE) board of directors since its inception in 2008 and as secretary of AIE since 2010. Additionally, he currently serves on the board of Security America Risk Retention Group and was its treasurer from 2003 – 2008. The Morris F. Education Chairman LJ Lynes has been on the front lines of education for the past 13 years. His career in the security industry began in 1993 with Security Consultants, Inc. of Memphis. While working for SCI he attended the Mississippi State Fire Academy and then the academy medical school where he became an EMT. In 1996, he joined Best Access Systems (now Stanley Security Solutions, Inc.) as a service tech and quickly progressed to become a customer and technical trainer on security products. He began teaching NTS courses in 1998 for the Tennessee Electronic Security Association and has served as chairman of the TNESA Education Committee and also as regional vice president. Currently, he serves as national liaison director for TNESA.

The Sara E. Jackson Memorial award was graciously sponsored by Honeywell Security Group.
