The FCC released two press releases last week. In the first the FCC has mandated that providers must notify customers of plans to retire copper networks at least three months in advance, unless they are able to guarantee that no service will be discontinued, reduced or impaired. The Texas Senate has recently passed SB 507 which requires school districts to install cameras in self-contained classrooms or other locations for students receiving special services. The Senate is predicting that the installations will generate close to $2.6 million for the Electronic Security Industry.
